      Wow… seriously?
I too was tricked into buying this without actually reading the reviews. This book is complete garbage – poorly written and not a positive message for kids. I’m actually still not sure what the message of the book was after reading it to my 4 yr old. If you still end up purchasing this book as I have… then you deserve the outcome. For the other reviews that claim this to be a great book… I have no words.

      Cute Art, Dumb Story
The illustrations tricked me into buying it. I thought it was going to be a great book, but it turned out to be just “meh.” The rhyming story doesn’t make a lick of sense, and the meter is jarring in places by the awkward addition of one too many syllables.

No Plot, Bad Ryhmes, NonSensical, Violent.
I want to like this book, but it is awful on pretty much every front. Have no idea how it has sold so much. Bad/broken rhymes, nonsensical story, the different places they go have no logic to them. From start to finish. I don’t know how else to describe it but nonsensical. Also, there are places that are pretty dark and strange for a children’s book–and a holiday book to boot! A cat trying to kill Santa’s elf? Another toy prodding him with an electric shocker/brander? Another room where a bomb has been set up to blow up the elf/Santa and a bunch of food (trying to look like mission impossible but no reason why…)? Then a visit to a random grocery store again with a food cannon to blow Santa and the elf away? Doesn’t make any sense. No story line, bad rhymes, no holiday cheer or message, and borderline deranged. Would not recommend to anyone.
